Updating your firmware and pairing the micro:bit

Oct 1, 2020 at 7:26 PM by Andrew McDonald

Hi Everyone,

I'm excited to be learning and sharing with everyone during the course.  I have been requested to share these videos to support your use of the micro:bit.

First is to make sure the micro:bit is up to date to use.  You need to grab the latest firmware from the micro:bit website here

and then you can use this video to update the firmware.

After updating the micro:bit, you can then pair the micro:bit with your web browser to use the one-click download feature. Pairing the micro:bit

Enjoy!

Thanks for sharing these Andrew! I wish I'd seen them about a week ago. A bunch of my students went through the process of figuring this out, but we didn't have these super helpful tutorials.

I'll just have to bookmark them for the next time I have to pair some micro:bits!

Not a problem!!  I am planning a french version... if I can do it this week!

Thanks for the feedback - great to know that people are liking them.

A French version would be great, Andrew!  I teach French immersion, and it's often difficult to find quality videos for teaching coding in French.   I'll definitely be bookmarking!

Ok, I guess I really need to do a French one now!!  Thanks for the encouragement.  What other videos would be useful?
